The greatest GECO masters 2016 of all time

Last weekend, the fourth GECO Masters took place in Philippsburg. The event has by now become a fixed favorite and this year drew in record numbers of competitors. A total of 385 marksmen from 14 countries took part in the superbly organized event. It has to be said that this number of competitors represents the upper limit for the three-day event. Many marksmen used the match as final preparation for the upcoming ‘Handgun European Championships’ in Hungary. Fifteen demanding stages with at least 287 rounds had to be completed. The level of difficulty was worthy of a Level III match, and the 70-strong Range Officer team produced outstanding work.

The popularity of GECO Masters can certainly be explained by, among other things, its generous sponsoring. The company RUAG Ammotec GmbH supported the event this year too with its brand GECO. Goods to the value of more than €12,000 were provided as prizes for the winners in the draws which took place every day. Lars Backes and Ralf Vanicek represented the company personally at the event, and offered tips and practical advice to interested spectators and entrants. Interest in GECO ammunition remains as strong as ever. With the inclusion of the range in all IPSC subdivisions, GECO has achieved the position as universal provider. The brand continues to prove itself as a reliable partner of IPSC Sports on the market. Accordingly, GECO will be represented as match ammunition provider at this year’s Handgun European Championships in Hungary.

The GECO team marksmen Sascha Back, Csaba Szászi and György Batki were able to put on a good show once again and achieve outstanding results.

Sascha Back won in the Revolver Division and György Batki came first in the Standard Division. Congratulations!
